I went shopping with a buddy today...he likes the green tractors. I told him I would run the numbers by the wise folks on the TBN JD forum.

JD 4110, 60" MMM, mounting hardware for the MMM, turf tires, hydraulic valve for the FEL (no FEL though)....$15,414. The salesman said this was a $2,400 discount.

Also a Landpride 5' rear blade for dealer cost at $270.

Sound like a good deal??? Sounds fair to me, although I am not to familiar with JD pricing since I don't own one those shiney green tractors.

Thanks

Hi,

I paid about that for just my 4100 5 years ago (I live in NH). The deck is worth ~1800-2000. The FEL control is included with the tractor (at least with the 4100 it was). I am selling my machine, so I have been lookin' at prices and they haven't changed much in the last 5 years (I was hopin' for some inflation).

So, yes, I'd say he's getting the deck for free (about a 2000 discount).

Sounds about right, a 11-12% discount. I get about 10% disc in VT. Pricing & discounts seem to be a very regional thing with some parts of the country getting great deals and others, like us in the northeast, paying closer to list.

Is he getting the ehydro? If so, then I got the same set-up in December that your buddy is looking at - I love it - although it's been limited to snowplow duty over the winter. I also got the BH, waiting for the thaw to get going with that.

So, yeah, it sounds fair. Have the dealer throw in the 50 hour service...and also check on pick-up & drop-off for service work. Some dealers charge, and charge alot, and others do it for free.

When I bought my 4010, they said a 4110 was $2,000 more. Paid $9,775 for the tractor. This was just before the November price increase. Bought it with 410 FEL and LX4 and toothbar for $13,600. Same price at 2 different dealers.

Sounds about right for this region.

-Norm,

So you got a 4110 with eHydro? Is this something new that JD came up with in 2004?

I'm probably guilty of using incorrect terminology - it's the plain ol' hydrostatic tranny (HST) - no clutch, no shifting - but no 'e' in the name either. I'll pay closer attention to that so no one feels misled..

Don't worry about it Norm, I was just wondering if the 4110 was really available with eHydro! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

have there beenany significant changes between the enw 4110 and the 1999 4100?

Is it worth pony-ing up for the new model compared with buying a used 4100?
