I recently purchased a used 47 snowblower for my 4110. It came with the pto shaft, blower head, and quick hitch. I bought a used carrier bearing housing, and new carrier bearings and holders. When I put the carrier bearing housing on the front of the tractor on the loader hood guard brackets and then put the mid pto shaft through them, the shaft it too long to hook up to the tractors mid pto underneath the seat. I can't figure it out. Everything is assembled correctly, but the shaft it too long by a few inches. Can someone please measure the total length of their mid pto shaft? I'm almost positive I have the correct one but it just does't fit. The one I have is 65" from end to end and is not telescopic. Thanks for your help

Are you sure the used carrier parts were from a 4110? What was the 47 blower attached to in previous ownership?
A pic or two or three of the position of the carrier bearing housing mounted might help determine what is up.
Just thinking, if it is assembled correctly then the shaft must be for a different tractor.

Here's a few pictures of the bearing carrier housing on the tractor, and the shaft. Besides the shaft being too long, everything else hooks up like it should, that's why I'm curious of someone else's pto shaft length. I believe everything is for a 4100/4110.

To install the mid shaft you push the splined shaft through both front bearings as far as it will go. Then you gain clearance at the mid pto end to pull it rearward to align and mount onto the mid pto. If yours is too long to do this it must be incorrect for your tractor.
I tried that and we are still off by at least 2-3". Any idea what that shaft goes to if it is not correct for the snowblower? I will need to sell it and then get the correct one if that is the case. I would like to know the length of the correct shaft for the snowblower to make sure something else isn't wrong and I don't order the same shaft.

I have a 4110 and a 47 inch blower. I just measured my shaft--starting from the pto to the end of the ujoint where the square gold colored shaft starts (the one that goes into the carrier bearing) is 49 inches. I don't know the length of the "gold" shaft. (really not relevant) I looked at ypour pics and they are identical to mine. HTH.

My measurement is everything that is black on your pic. As close as I can read your tape your shaft measures 56.5 inches where my shaft measures 49 inches ( plus or minus a few sixteenths) I would say you have the wrong shaft. I would think you could cut a piece out and weld it back together, but maybe someone more versed in that field can answer that. If you can, I will get you an exact length--to the 16th.

Quick question--is your 4110 hydro or gear? I don't know if there is a difference, but FYI mine is hydro.
My 4110 is a hydro. By the sounds of it, I have the wrong shaft. I'd appreciate a measurement if you could. I'm either going to have a driveshaft shop cut and weld it or check with Deere on the price of a new "correct" shaft. Thanks
