I'm looking to buy a John Deere 790 and sell my John Deere 4100 and want to know if my 60 inch mower deck will switch over to the John Deere 790.

Are there any difference in mounting from the 4100 to the 790?

I am quite sure all the mounting hardware will be different, but you can search around JDParts: Unsigned Landing Page to be sure.

Does this 790 have a mid-PTO? It was an option on that machine.

Thanks for your reply.

The 790 does have the mid PTO but in a different position.

What I am thinking is that I could take the mounting hardware off the 4100 and put that on the 790.
The question is whether it would bolt up?

Probably not a direct fit and if you have r1 fronts of of 7.0-14 along side of 12.2-24 rears, or if you have r4's of 25.8.5-14 fronts with 15.00x19.5 rears then a 60" will have issues as there is not enough clearance to raise the deck off of the ground without hitting the tires. For the rest of the 790/3005 tire size options it should not be a problem but that does indicate a difference between the 2 machine decks.
