Hi all. I have a 1970 JD 400 loader backhoe. I would like to enclose it. Has anyone made a cab for one of these before?

That machine looks like it had a cab and somebody trashed most of the parts. I don't see that model at the Ford New Holland parts site. You might shop around some junkyards and see if you can find an old cab to cannibalize or just start building on to what you have.

The cab is not original. The tag on the cab says " Dole Cab Co.Inc. Willimantic Conn." I have googled that and couldn't find anything. Should i just build doors and a back window that opens or should i buy some canvas and put snap on it?

So how are you going to build the doors so that they aren't in your way when you get in or out? Either way you swing them is going to be a pain. I'm thinking a canvas curtain that slides into place might be the best solution. Same with the back window. Just my thoughts after looking over your picture.
