Hi all, happened on my JD 332 lawn tractor , I was removing the start switch and shorted it by mistake on the body, now the electical panel is dead. I check the fuse s , all ok. Any ideasノ

I would check the ground on the switch and then the frame. If that checks out then I would start tracing the positive from the battery terminal back through the circuit until you find where it stops. My 332 had a very weak grounding strap that connected the negative to the frame that eventually lost conductivity even though it looked connected. I replaced it with a battery cable and it worked fine for years. I have new problems now and I suspect the time delay module is the culprit as it needs all circuits to check out before allowing 12 volts through the switch. If yours traces back to the same module, then I would suspect that as well. It is a small black box below the ignition switch mounted on the bottom of the dash tower. I don't think you can fix it, just replace it. Hope it helps.

You may have burned out the contact in the ignition switch.
You may also have a fusible link that is blown, a fusible link will look like a black rubber cigar in the wire,
very small, if it's blown, there will be a bulge in it, if you have one, that is.

Not to be a smart ***** but that's why we disconnect the battery when working on electrical systems. BTDT.
