My 332 has developed a fuel leak on the fuel tank. There are 2 lines coming off the top of the tank. One is a supply line and the other is the return line. The return line has a copper elbow on it where it enters the tank with 2 electrical wires attached. Looking at the tech manual, this is a low fuel sensor. That's where I've developed a leak. Looks like it is coming from where the 2 wires are attached. Do I need a low fuel sensor? Never run the fuel tank that low. Can I replace it with a regular copper fitting? John Deere and every place else I've looked wants around $75 for this "low fuel sensor". Seems a little pricey to me. Appreciate your comments.

Don't see why you need it if you don't want it. But, I don't know that you'll easily find any "regular copper fitting" that will work. There should also be a rubber bushing that the copper tube fits through. It's tough enough to replace with the correct JD parts let alone something improvised. My advice would be to buy the correct parts. FWIW

Thanks for your thoughts bruceatlam. Looked everywhere and didn't find anything that would adapt to the JD fuel tank. Had to bite the bullet and buy the low fuel sensor. Problem solved.
