Price Check JD 318 pricing

Now that I just ordered a New JD2210 tractor I have to sell my trusty old JD 318 tractor. My wife doesn't think that I need 3 tractors in the garage. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The tractor is in average condition for it's age I would guess. The engine has less that 800 hours on it. It is original, uses very little oil, etc. I have the 50" mower deck for it, as well as the front blade. The tractor hasn't seen much use the last couple of mowing seasons since I purchased by 455 but I have used it to push snow off the driveway since I got this tractor back in 1994. The paint, etc is in good condition except for a place on the left foot area where over time the paint has come loose on this area and flaked away. I have always changed oil and filter every 20 hours. What would be a good asking price for this tractor? My dealer was going to allow me 2000.00 for trade, so I figured a price somewhere between 2500.00 and 3000.00. Is this too much to expect? I see that on e-bay they are usually selling for around this. Thanks for the help

I think Ebay 318's go for a little more than your likely to get local, but hey, why not just list it on ebay? Your a better man than me if you can part with such a good GT. I've got it's older brother, the 140....and it's not going anywhere buy my yard.

I would say around $2500 would be a good price. Maybe a couple hundred more if it is a late one, say a 1992... or if you got manuals for it.

Haven't seen too many private owner sales around here for 318's but through a dealer you'd have a $3500 plus rig with the blade. Most 318/deck combos tend to be around $3.5K here even with nothing particularly special about the motor/condition. I'd guess that the trade-in value is probably a good $1K less than that. Blades set ups alone if in decent shape seem to run $400 on up.
