I was disassembling the deck to paint it. I had to cut the bolts holding the spindles on sice JD used carriage bolts that spun when I tried to remove the nuts. The center spindle/hub came off easily. There must be a trick to removing the other two. What is the trick?

Thanks
Ortis

You could weld a nut to the top and then hold it with a wrench. How to fix the holes? idk

The answer turned out to be simple: hit it harder! A couple good whacks got the spindles out. As for the carriage bolts: yes, as mfreund suggests, i'll use a hex bolt and nut. No welding required.
