I am building a cab for my 2014 John Deere 3038E. I plan to use canvas doors with clear plastic for see through windows. I had a JD 750 with this type of cab and it worked fine to keep the wind off when plowing snow. I will attach pictures as I go along. I am using 1X1 square tubing for the frame. I am building it in pieces so I can put it on by myself. I made a windshield hoop first. i built it to stay tight to the loader on the upright and tilted it to be parallel with the ROPS. I used a HF tubing bender to bend the square tubing. I will post pics and progress as I go along.

Thanks for the kind words!

I have finished the front and rear hoops and have them mounted with the center portion of the roof. Because I didn't want this to be a big box that sat on the out side of the tractor, i am actually going to bring the roof in from 48" in the back to 39" in the front. I am going to make the bend to match the floor board angle. That's what I hope to accomplish today.
This is a picture of them all bolted together. I had to use it to plow as we received a nice 6" snow last night.

Be careful of your clearance to get it out of your garage! Looking elegant!

This is what the back canvas window will look like. I plan to use JD yellow to border the windows.

Awesome looking progress. Please keep posting as you go. I am interested in building/buying one for my tractor. The new hard cabs are great but not priced where I would invest in one. Had thought of something like this but it wasn't occurring to me how to attach it. Now I got some more ideas.
Thanks man. Much appreciated.

Thanks, I have spent 44 hours on the tractor so far. Most of that time I was pondering how to mount the cab. I was planning to build a mount for the bottom of the front hoop, but with it mounted as it is it is very stout. i used 1/4" X 3" flat bar for the mounts to the loader and for the ROPS plates. I will post demensions and materials list when I am done.

I'm surprised a HF tubing bender will bend square tube. Pretty nice, I might need to get one of those...

I was surprised how well it worked also. I just used the regular pipe die, but was prepared to build a fixture like the one I found on the following link. File:8-53 Crush rod.jpg - The Scratch-Built Hot Rod
I think if I had to bend any tighter of a radii, i would have had to build the die that is on the link attached for my HF bender.

Thanks for the compliments. Progress will slow a bit as I had to go back to work. Trying to plan and build the hinges for the doors from stock I have on hand,
