JD 3038e battery removal problems

First of all thanks in advance for you answers.

I removed the battery cables, and then tried to remove the battery hold down bolt/clip combo.

The bolts turn freely but do not back out so I can remove the hold down clips.

Are there some hidden nuts or what am I doing wrong. All help is appreciated!

Lock nuts on the other end of those bolts, will need two wrenches to remove..
