I have a 324X. I can not find in the manual where it talks about servicing the transmission.

If your talking about changing the trans. oil, I don't belive your supposed to. I pretty sure it's supposed to last the entire life of the tractor with out servicing. That being said there is a thread with a bullitin on how to change the oil if you want to. It is in the lowes/ home depot tractor thread I belive. I would keep it cleen and grease your "u" joints. A clean transmission is a happy transmission.:D

I have been considering the X300 series myself, but was turned off when I downloaded the manuals from the JD website, and found that even going up to the X324 the transmissions are all sealed - "Fluid is good for the life of the unit". I wasn't going to fork over $4k for a tranny that didn't have at least a drain plug.
