JD 3005 FEL hydraulic lines

My dad's jd 3005 has a control valve and and handle for a fel and also has hard lines ran up to about mid-way of the tractor.However, he does not have a loader and was wanting to use those hydraulics for his wood splitter.The tractor does not have any rear hydraulics.The wood splitter does have a control valve on it.Is this possible to do or would it be easier to run remote hydraulics to the rear.Thanks

That is definitely possible. Just get long enough hoses to reach the mid couplers and then tie the joystick in the engaged position with a bungee cord. Jus be sure the valve on the splitter is for open center hydraulics or the hydraulics will overheat.
