JD 2750 counter rotating balance shaft bearings

I'm looking at a JD 2750 that needs counter rotating balance shaft bearings. The tractor is part of a package deal with the property. Anything to watch out for? Any sense of what getting this fixed costs?

Brgs are actually bushings part # R57160 BUSHING ADD 7.51 USD 45.06 US. I hope that the block bushing bores are not worn egg shaped

And if they are? How bad is that?

Also, what about labor? Are these hard to get to and put in?

IIRC the oil pan and frt timing cover needs to be removed to R&R bushings. Egg shaped bush bores would require another engine block or some serious machine shop work.

This sounds like a BIG job! You basicly have to pull the engine. The tractor needs to be separated foward of the engine, then the engine pulled from the clutch housing (you have to go in from the back to get the rear balancer bearing). Flywheel removed and then the flywheel housing.

There are special tools to remove, install, and stake the bushings in to the block. All this assumes the block is OK.

Call a JD dealer and ask Service for an estimate.
