Tire tools $40 (already owned)

New rear tires $54 each

Put a little gasoline around the bead and let it sit for a little bit , this will soften things up and assist in bead breakage.

Good thing I didn't think of that. THere were a couple moments where I would have taken the next logical step..... Light a match.

I did get them changed eventually. It was just interesting breaking the bead.

Did you try driving over the tire sidewall with your car or truck? If done slowly, it should work. I've done it on automobile tires in the "old days" when I was too poor to have it changed.

You can also use the edge on a loader bucket to break a bead loose.
