2011, JD 2520
I am running a 2011 JD 252.
From time to time I see used rear snowblowers, but I am never sure my 2520 will power them properly.
I wanted to ask JD 2520 owners about their snowblowers.
The rated rear pto hp is 20.5hp.
To cover my tires tracks I would need at minimum a 54", and to get a little wiggle room a 64".
Looking at the specs for say a frontier SB1164 or a Blizzard b64, both state minimum pto is 20hp.
Are any of you 2520 owners running these blowers?

I'm running the sb1154 on my 2320, I can bog down the tractor if I go to fast. Depending on the snow conditions the 64 will work great, or you'll just have to go slow.

I don't have any experience with rear snowblowers, but I think you can bog down just about any size blower if it's deep and heavy enough.

My 47 incher bogs down when I try to hit the 2' drift too fast.

I have a 2520 with the JD front 54" blower and it works well. In deep packed heavy snow it will make the engine bog down a little. In most conditions, it could handle more width. I'm very happy with the 54" front mount. If you go with wider blower and the condition are heavy and deep, you could take the first full path slow and then only take a partial path.

A couple of days ago I took a walk around a JD lot. I must say I was quite surprised looking at the Frontier SB1164 the thing looked huge. Thinking back if it was installed on my JD2520 it would only stick out ~5" on each side of my rear tires. I will wait and watch hoping to find something used. I was hoping that May snow blower prices would be lower, but that doesn't seem to be the case at the dealer anyway!
After reading the comments I think the SB1164 would work fine on a JD 2520. One think I did clear up for myself after seeing a Blizzard B64 on the JD lot: they are identical save for the red paint, and the dealer confirmed it when asked. They are both made by the same manufacture.
