I have a John Deere 2210 that I got this past fall. I started using it this winter for snow plowing with the FEL and it works great. I just started noticing a red/pink fluid in the snow if I let it sit for a bit while running. I looked in the rear of the tractor and found the transmission oil window was showing low. I added more but I am wondering where the leak would be coming from? I the area around the rear PTO is saturated in the red/pink fluid, almost as if it was sprayed. I wiped it all down and plowed again and found it there again, the entire area around the rear PTO was saturated.
I read that there's a "vent" for the transmission that could get clogged and cause it to spray out air/oil when it gets hot. Does anyone have experience with this? If so, where is the vent so I can see if its dirty or snow covered?
