JD 2210 Rear Axle Seal

I have the service manual for 2210 on cd someplace..

I also have to replace the left rear axle seal on my JD 2210. I have the online manual and from everything I've seen it looks like I'm going to have to remove the transaxle from the frame in order to remove the axle from the housing. Please let me know if there is a better way of replacing the axle seal. Thanks for your input.

Any update on how this went? I also need to replace one of the seals but do not have the CD. Did you have to disassemble as much as someone said?

Did you complete the rear axle seal replacement? How did it go?

Have you looked at the parts in jdparts.com to get an idea where the axle is held into the housing?
That will give you a clue to what needs to come off to get the axle out so the seal can be replaced.
