JD 2210 Curtis Cab Console work light fuse

Thanks for the info junkman. I belive I paid 500 for the entire console, which comes with the radio, speakers, switch panel, defroster, built in fan, relay, and all the wires to hook it up. You can check it out at my thread with the pictures of the 2210 with the console. The console is available from curtis. Also i just called curtis and they suggested that i just run 2 lights off one switch because the breakers are 10 amp breakers and each set of lights draws 6 amps so that would be 2 amps over. 2210 with cab and curtis console

I just wanted to let everyone know that i fixed the problem tonight. I took the console off the celing and i traced the positive wire that came from the rear lights and then it split into two and one side went to the positive side of the switch then the other side went to the front lights so i cut the part that went to the front lights and spliced a new wire into it to add length and added the front lights onto the existing spare switch. The grounds were already there for the spare swtich and then i tested it and it works great. I fuigered out that its a 10 amp breaker and each light set takes 6 amps so haveing two sets on one circuit made it 12 amps but spliting them up its now 6 on each.

Glad it all worked out for you.

I would think that a JD tech might know that you can't pass 12 amps through a 10 amp fuse or breaker for very long without problems of this sort popping up.

yea i think they would as well considering the breakers say 10 amps all over them

If you have a poor ground from the cab to the tractor it can also cause this problem. Try hooking a single booster cable from good metal on the cab to good metal on the engine or to the battery neg. post. If that resolves the problem, then it is a bad ground.
