JD 2155 with FEL, is 2231 hours a lot for $14.5K?

Hey all,
I'm looking at a JD 2155 4x4 with FEL. It looks clean and has 2231 hours on it for $14.5K. Is that a lot of hours for the money? At what point would you consider this particular tractor to be "high time" in regards to hours?

Pretty low hours. Price doesn't sound bad. We bought a 2 WD 2155 with 175 loader and about 3000 hours for $10700 last year.

The hours seem to be below average for a 25 year old tractor. High hours would be 8000 imo. If it is in good condition with 2200 hours you should be okay, which transmission option does this tractor have?

It's got the TSS 8x4. It's in great shape so I picked it up. It's actually being delivered to my house next weekend but it's sold on a handshake deal. Thanks for the advice guys.

Test the coolant for depleted corrosion inhibitor . If she's good , buy it quick.

Finally got it home. Ended up paying $14,350 with an extra set of hydraulic remotes. The TSS 8F4R trans is a huge improvement over my little Ford's unsyncronized 4speed. I'm in love with this thing.
