Can anyone enlighten me how to hook up the hydraulic lines going to a backhoe on a 2155. A guy that helps me removed 4 hoses on the back pump under the seat for me( I wished I had told him to take a couple of pictures of it, 2 were busted) I wanted to replace them all as they were 25 years old. There is a T on the top of the pump and a T on the bottom. He remembered that 1 from top and 1 from bottom went to a box on the side between the tires and I have them sorted out(maybe for loader). The 2 that went to the backhoe hook up to the other sides of the T's but he doesn't remember which fitting at the back of the tractor went on which hose. One is male and one is female(backhoe hooks up to these). I have got the 4 new hoses and have put the front 2 on. Just need to know about the backhoe. What else do I need to do when I replace the fluid as most of it was lost, bleed anything or any other tips or things I need to do? I don't know too much about hydraulics. I don't know if all power beyond kits work like mine, but on my tractor, the line that supplies the rockshaft control valve is interrupted by a line that supplies the backhoe pressure line. It has a female ag quick connector. The backhoe return line is plumbed to a port that just dumps back into the sump for return to the pump. When not using the backhoe, the power beyond port uses a jumper hose that continues to the "in" port for the rockshaft control valve.

My knowledge of JD closed-center hyds such as your 2155 posesses is broad but my knowledge of backhoes is limited. Who manufactured your BH? Can you post photos of these hose locations? Pressure hose should be attached just behind pressure control valve(key 15) on RH side by hyd filter and return hyd hose should go to ported hyd filter cover. While hyd oil level is low would be a good time to check trans sump screen which requires draining oil.

Thank to all for the reply's. My tractor has 2 T's on the pump. 1 line from each T goes to a box on the side of the tractor and sends and returns fluid to and from the loader. The other 2 hoses(1 supply and 1 return)goes back to the rear of the tractor with 2 quick connect fittings. I have installed these 4 new hoses except for putting on the quick connect fittings for the backhoe(under the crank for the 3pt. hitch). I wasn't sure whether to put the male or female fitting on the supply. Is there any protocol for quick connects? Like the male is the pressure side or the female is the pressure side, or can I tell by following the quick connects on the backhoe where they go. Also all the fluid pretty much leaked out.I have 10 new gallons to put back in, is there any other things I should do before installing the new fluid, Tx Jim can you give me a pic or diagram of the trans sump screen, I would like to do this as most of the fluid is drained. I can work on cars and trucks not too up on this tractor. It is a 1990 2155 has a JD #10 backhoe and a JD 146 loader.

I have no idea why someone would cobble a pto pump onto a 2155 with a backhoe.
My 1640 with the little 2.3 pump operates my JD 10A backhoe way faster than it can be controlled if over 1300-1400rpm.
Used the plug to convert the 10A's valves to closed center. Direct supply line from a T just after the priority valve and prior to the SCV valve. Oil is returned with a T into the same return line the loader uses to the ported filter cover .
