Can't find it by searching.

Can anyone tell me whether the JD 2025 has that FATAL design underfoot fuel filter?

I'm ready to trade my 1025R in with its factory assembly problems, including now the can't-stop-it-from-leaking oil filter.

Want an 18-25 hp tractor without the underfoot fuel filter nor underneath hydraulic cooling fan. Only thing I've found so far is the Kubota B2301.

Located the JD 2025 owner's manual online. There's no mention of an underneath fuel filter.

Why in the world does the 1025 have one? No way would one replace that thing if it got blocked by crud while moving snow. You'd need to be able to apply heat to those rubber lines to soften them enough to get the filter off. I was able to do it a week or so ago in this heat but cannot imagine doing it in the winter.

The 2025 has no underfoot fuel filter. Also has no fan underneath. It has an oil cooler in front of the radiator.

Can anyone tell us the micron rating of the 2025 fuel filter.

Trying to figure out why the 1025 got blessed with the lower micro filter in line off the tank.

Hiya,

I don't have access to the Deere spec pages however it's generally accepted that Deere filters are sourced through Wix/Donaldson and here are the specs from them.

The 1025 series uses a 1/4" in-line filter rated at 12 microns next to the tank, then a water/debris filter combo with a pleated paper element rated at 19 microns. The 2025r has the same combo separator/filter with a 19 micron rating and no in-line prior to it. The next series up, the 2520/2720/2032r use a water/debris separator first with a screen/strainer type filter then a spin on cartridge after which is 10 micron rated.

I don't know why Deere would put an additional filter on the 1 series at the tank, maybe to save owners money as the small in-line is a few bucks and the filter pair for a 2520 is around 45 bucks.

2520/2720/2032r spin-on cartridge filter, the screen separator is a Deere only filter and I can't get specs on that.

Interesting. Thanks very much.

Only trouble with the inline filter is it's virtually impossible to get it off/out-of a stiff fuel line in the winter if the tractor's stuck in the snow with a plugged fuel filter. You'll really need to tow it into the garage to get some heat on it (gun or hair dryer). I got mine off and new one back on in the field where it got stuck a week or so ago but no way I'd be able to do it in the snow in the winter.

If I were to keep the 1025 (not likely with all the other troubles I've had on it), I'd replace the inline filter with a shutoff valve. When I asked JD for a shutoff valve about a year ago, they were out of them. Wonder why.
