JD 2010 Transmission Leak?

I know it was a huge mistake to buy one, but I didn't know that at the time so here I am.
There is a plate in front of the drain plug for the transmission its at a angle held on with 4 bolts and approx. 8x8 inches.
I couldn't even find it in my repair manual. To me it looks like its there so I can adjust something inside
and put it back on. Anyway its leaking into that compartment, could I possibly notice something with the engine
running and a flashlight. I am just asking for some pointers for where to start besides using dynamite. That's
for any helpful info.

Are you referring to plate(key 16)? If so IIRC that is a access plate to R&R hyd pump. The oil leak is probably associated with hyd pump.

It looks like if the rear crank seal was leaking, engine oil could leak out this plate.
Have you determined if it's engine oil or hydraulic oil leaking?

Yes I was, thanks for the picture. If its the pump how would I remove it? I'm sure it looks like Hydl. fluid, its pretty clear, the oil level
hasn't went down in the engine and we had to add 2 gal. to the trans. Thanks for the quick replies.

IIRC one just removes the longest bolts to get pump out of the opening so leaking seal &/or o-rings can be replaced.

I found it my manual, it says that you have to separate the tractor to remove the pump, which is not for me. Is that indeed what I would
have to do? Thanks
