JD 170 Electric PTO Problem

Hello All,

I was just given a John Deere Model 170 14HP Kawasaki powered tractor, it runs great but as soon as you begin to engage the electric PTO it stalls the tractor, where should I start?

Assuming the pulleys on the deck spin freely, I would look to see if there is a seat safety switch interlock.
