JD 165/175 building one good'en out of 2 broken ones. Some questions???

Hi, first post to this forum, i recently was given, (for free), a JD 165 and a 175 tractor. Both are Hydro's and have the 38" deck. The 165 was complete it had just been sitting for about 5 years, whereas the 175 had a broken transmission and had been mostly dismantled for some reason, all that was on the frame was the linkages, front axle, hood and dash/battery tray assembly, i also have the rear fender/seat/footboard panel, the broken transaxle, and all the wheels, so i am going to use this as my base, the engine for this tractor is gone so i have the motor still in the 165, although i do not know if it is good, (spark plug is missing). The 165 seems a lot older than the 175, it does not have headlights like the 175 does, what years were these things produced?? What is the availability of parts for these things?? I am going to make a good job of the restoration and it should be quick as i need a tractor!! I will keep updates as i go if anyone is interested, also have a few pics i could throw up here.

Hi and welcome, probably your best bet is to call your local JD dealer and he would be able to tell you if parts are still available. zman
