JD 140 steering box

Can you rebuild a steering box on a 140. I can take a lot of the play out by adjusting it but it is realy warn out. Additionally the idler arm has a lot of slop on it. Does it have bushings the replace? Thanks for the help

There are some parts that may be available for the steering gear, but you best look them up in jdparts to see what they are (or visit the Deere dealer to see what is available). Noticed there was a bearing kit, and some bushings. Will depend on what is worn and what is available.

I just replaced the bearings on my 216 steering column. The JD dealer only had a bearing kit available.
