I bought a K181 (8hp) engine off of Ebay to replace and identical engine from the 110 JD. The difference I ran into is the engine I am replacing with doesn't have the 12 volt coil that the original had. The wiring harness to both engines is the same connection but something is different within the wiring. Do any of you know what would be different? The new engine shouldn't need 12 volts anywhere to run but the original had to have 12 volts for the coil. What is the 3 wire connection to each of these? Also, what do I need to change to make the change over to the older style engine? Thanks in advance for you help.
