One thing we need to remember is that the 110 was the originator, and Kubota copied their design, so it makes senses that they should be able to refine & improve the 110's design.

Muleskinner,)</font> I do not believe this is an accurate statement.... JD 110 was 2 years behind the L 48.. I was looking at 48's and much,. much later, at least 18 months and maybe closer to 2 years and tried the JD 110...

I'm not talking about the L48.

The L-39 is a direct copy of the JD110. I love Kubota, but in this case, JD originated the cuved boom and the side mounted instrument panel before the L-39 came out to replace the L-35.

The L-48 has been out much longer than the JD110, but doesn't have the innovative features that seperate the JD110 and the L-39 from the other TLB's of its' time.

A buddy of mine has a 110. It's a nice machine, but it suffers from some "slop" issues. I've heard him mention the hoe bucket slop and had some refinements attempted by the dealer when it was new. Otherwise, I think it's been fine and he drives it hard.

I think the L39 is the option to go with unless you want something like a JD210 /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif It's the perfect size and performs similar enough to the 110 and the 48 that it's not worth the extra weight IMO. Now, if you are doing primarily loader work maybe the hydro tranny is worth it. This is on top of the fact that the cost for the 39 was substantially less.

I do like the plastic canopy (no rust). The 110 has the side panel too, so that could get damaged. I just do my best to stay clear of things that can damage the machine and hope for the best. If it gets damaged, then I made a mistake and will either fix it or leave it. I've seen plenty of 50K lb. excavtors with damage. It just comes with the territory.

As it applies to our small compacts, industrial tractors have had this for many years. There are so many really cool features on the industrials that would be great to have on a compact like the hydraulic bucket pins on the hoe that let you grab a bucket and lock it on from inside the super deluxe cabs they also come with. Of course, that would push the price of these even higher and my opinion is, any higher pricing and sales of TLB's are not going to increase. I'm anxious to try out the L39 if for no other reason then to see if it is really as incredible as it sounds like it is.
