JD 1070 creeper gear.

Anyone on here have a 70 series tractor 870-1070 that has a factory or have added a Creeper gear set up.

The low range on the 770 was pretty slow. I think, that whole range was an economy (Yanmar) tractor and what you see is what you get. Not many options.

I have a 6 foot reverse tiller. My lowest gear still to fast on the first pass. Wonder if anyone has put one in or taken one out. Or has pictures of one on a tractor.

That was always the trouble with my 770. Two reverse speeds. One too fast and the other too slow.

My 1070 has 3 ranges. The low range forward is a crawl. Revers is a snail. I use it with a rear rototiller and back up with it. Rear flap raised up. Good for spitting rocks up and out. Good way to chew up a gravel driveway, too. But, I don't know what ground speed the low reverse or low fwd produces at max rpm. depends on what tires (obviously) you have.

From what I can find (very little)there's an option a person could by that gave at least one more set of gears.(Creeper) very very slow off hand I cant remember what the shift sticker on the fenders says on factory speeds. 0.2 mph cant remember. If you go to JD parts and put in 1070 you can scroll though and find a Creeper gear set up. . Problems I'm finding is the John Deere/ Yanmar cross over I haven't found the person who knows. How to or who can in stall or sells one.

jdparts for the 1070 shows a separate listing for "Creeper Version" which might indicate it was a factory build.. thus not easy to buy/add at a later time. Maybe a different transmission case, etc.
Some detective work within jdparts might solve any mystery.
