Over the years my starter has occasionally responded with just a click. My rebuilder attributed this to low voltage, so I installed a relay. The problem just recurred, and I discovered that with key turned to start, there is no juice to the relay. Assuming a switch problem I subsequently determined that with the key turned to start there is power to the start connection on the switch, but none to the relay. This tells me that the fault is in the wiring. The JD wiring diagram shows a starter over-ride switch in line. What is a starter over-ride switch, and where would I find it? I would like to avoid unwrapping the wiring harness just to trace wires. ALSO, the wiring diagram shows a black & white wire from the starter switch to the starter, BUT, on the starter switch there are TWO black/white wires connected to the same terminal. One is ~12 ga, and is the one to the relay, but the other is ~16-18 ga, and does not appear on the diagram. What is its purpose?
