Japan disaster.

The news is reporting that the Japanese people are losing confidence in the government because of conflicting reports. Even government officials are uncertain what is going on, the power company has been cought in lies [200] before.
They may not have answers because there are none, are hiding for damage control or just plane confused.
Right now the wind is west to east blowing out to sea, when it changes north to south Tokyo and points south will be in the fallout area, that will be a whole new ball of wax. 6 days after the blowup the US is going to use a spy drone with inferred for a look see. Good, but why so long coming?

:)Some times I write a scathing reply to a "pot shoter" on the forum. Then I fail to hit the Submit reply button. I feel better for expressing my opinion but practise a bit of self control.:)

Excellent advice. I'll try to take it.

I don't know what's happening over there so I haven't posted before now. I have seen the videos and they always seam to be the same couple of shots showing the worst. After all if the news was broadcasting shots from a few miles inland I think you would see pictures showing not much wrong. If Kubota is saying they are going to open up then I have to believe that the pictures we are seeing do not represent the entire country.

Now I personally hope that as many companies get back up and running as quickly as possible. That's the best thing for the country and it's people. It'll be a long road to recover the parts of the country hardest hit and the loss of power from the nuclear plants. The sooner the country can start to generate revenue he better.

When I checked it seemed that all the Kubota factories were south of Tokyo except for a couple that were in what I presumed is a northern suburb of Tokyo. Of course those are just the actual Kubota factories. They must have other suppliers and perhaps some of them were more in the disaster area even though most reports suggest the tsunami affected area was predominantly agricultural and non industrial. Of course with this nuke thing seeming to be getting out of hand who knows what will happen.

They have several reactors that are apparently in bad shape and releasing radiation. That's pretty bad and even if they get the lights on I sure wouldn't want to live or work anywhere downwind of that mess 'till they get it all under control.

If you are familiar with Japanese lean manufacturing, JIT, kanban, then you may well wonder how an interuption in, say, the supply of bolts or tie rod ends would affect delivery schedules of finished products.

I think they're in for a lot of human suffering and a very, very long recovery, which is very sad.

I love this forum because, usually it seems like every one is here to help and when they need it, get help. Good people helping each other. If my house collapsed on me in an earthquake, I know I could count on local TBN'rs, including lawn_king (at least if he were local,) to come dig me out with their favorite machines.

Too bad about this thread, but thank you to lawn_king for opening the discussion. I think a lot of people here care about people, feel for the Japanese people, support Kubota and care about Kubota parts availability. Too bad some people only care about being "right."

My heart goes out to Kubota, Japan and the Japanese people. To anyone suffering as a result of these horrific events.

Is there a way for us Kubota owners to send a collective "best wishes for a speedy recovery" from TBN forum?
