Jacobsen Turf Cat 423 pops out of gear

Was popping out of gear intermittently, I tightened the set screw over the detent ball and it worked for awhile.
Now its worse.
That spring is discontinued.
Any thoughts?

Is your Turf Cat 2 wheel or 4 wheel drive ?

Put a tarp strap on the shift lever. Issue solved.

I looked up the Jacobsen Turf Cat 423 and it has a hydrostatic transmission. I don't think that they "pop out out of gear".

Plus he has not come back to indicate what model he has. There are both gas and diesel models.
