well, now that we know that at least these roof materials are clay, or something like it, that makes sense.
An abundant available inexpensive resource. The tile roofs in Bermuda are everywhere, though they are used specifically to gather rainwater for local cisterns. Since my understanding is that water resources are precious in China, the idea of a tile roof certainly has merit unless it is made out of an unsafe substance.
Jack, I hope some day that the possibility of land ownership comes true for you.
