J Deere 770 mfwd

I have a J Deere 770 4wd, When I shift into 2wd the engine shuts off and will not re-start until i shift back into 4wd. Any ideas? Thanks!

It is mechanical shift so only idea at the moment is the shift lever is making/causing a short or a disconnected wire when moved to 2wd position.

My guess would be you are knocking a safety sensor wire or connector loose when engaging it. Check under the tractor, should become pretty obvious.
