2001 J. Deere 4300
I need to replace the seals on the bucket curl cylinders, and have ordered parts. The loader was built in 2001 and has a higher serial number (017xxx), as I know they changed the design a few times. I see that the cylinder has a spring ring on the end, but I can't understand how it comes apart. Is there another ring internally that holds it together? Haven't found a repair manual yet that shows it. Any comments on the manual or the job?

Thank you very much. Yes, now I understand the design. Remove the external circlip to push the cylinder "head" in, place orange plastic split ring in groove in the inside diameter of the cylinder, and yank the assembly out. The split orange ring fills the groove on the inside diameter which allows the internal metal ring to compress and go past the groove. Interesting design, clearly not obvious from the outside, or for that matter from the parts explosion diagram. I'm thinking I can leave the cylinder attached to the upper pin connection, using it as my "vise", and then plunge it in and yank it out like a sliding hammer. I have the parts and need to get up my courage to give it a whirl. Again, thanks for getting me the details.
