I'm not in mid-life crises way too late for that, but there are many things that I've been meaning to do that if I don't get to it they aren't going to get done. I'm going to try and forget about the things that I used to be able to do and can't any more and do as much as I can of what I can. My life hasn't turned out like I thought it would, well let's skip that cause I can't change it now. When I first saw a 140, I wanted one. Couldn't afford it. Never was able to outgrow that in real time but I got a 140 a couple of years ago. Haven't gotten it running yet... Well when I first saw a 318 - you get the idea. I've managed to get several none of which were running. I've repowered because I need more bang for the buck and had not the knowledge or skill to rebuild. I do have one 318 with an Onan but that needs a carb cleaning.

To cut to the chase for now, I needed something that could move stuff around. Remember I still don't have the means to support the things I want, so I have learned to make do with what I have for the most part. I put a 3 point lift on a 318. I had a 'HF pickup truck crane' that I mounted on a draw bar. Hooked that to a machine I wanted to move and managed to lift the front wheels of the 318. Piled as much weight on the front as I could but needed more. Disgusted I was going into the house and walked by my 140 which had a 3 point lift laying in front of it that I had never installed because it wasn't running and had no rear ports. I stopped and looked at it and that little (15 watt) light went off in my head ( I bet that will fit on the front of that 318). You know what happened when I got it over to the front of the 318 - close but no go. As always being too stupid to know I couldn't do something I set about making it fit. :)

I saw that build over in the other room. Nice job.

with 60 inch mower on front 2.jpg

This is with a 420 mower deck - somewhere north of 300 pounds. I really want to get an AlZ LoadLifter I really like having the load out front where I can see what's going on. Turning my head...

Have you thought about replacing that top link that you are using to hold the boom up with a hydraulic cylinder and hook it up to the other spool on the 318?

Yes, the jack that was on there quit working so I stuck the top link on. The link is a couple of inches longer than the jack but is rusted and hasn't broken loose yet so I can open it more. I am looking more height. Soon as I can find a hundred bucks I've got my eye on a cylinder at the Surplus Center.
