Thank-you all for your input TBN people and Kubota users during the past week. I'm about to finalize my order with thoughts on the following accessories listed below. I have to say, it's amazing the range of attitudes from Kubota dealers. The dealer most local to me had the highest price, poor call backs, promising product they don't have and played to many games. I feel I was able to make a more complete decision with the help of the TBN audience for which I am grateful.

possible other accessories include:

$125 - Rim-guard rear bar tires
$299 - installed tooth bar on loader bucker

not sure why I would need a high amp alternator, but will ask dealer $ cost. I saw others had ordered on TBN.

Do some BX22-23 users have lights on the ROPS

Will ask for price on stabalizer pads for back hoe.

Extended warranty options.

I have lights on the ROPS, but didn't upgrade the alternator. No issue as long as that's all the extra electrical load you're adding. Tooth bar is worth it...I still need to get one. I didn't fill the rear tires and haven't missed it.

The dealer with the lousy attitude wouldn't have been Ruwet & Sibley in New Milford would it? They try harder.
Just for ha-ha's, try the Deere dealer in New Milford. You just won't believe it.
It just goes to show that you don't need brains or personality to be in business, just balls.

If you don't mind, let us know where you found the best deal.

Sounds like a good deal. I didn't get the upgrade alternator, I figured I just install in myself later. I can say though, lights on the ROPS would be really useful at night. At night I've been lifting my bucket up so the lights shine on the ground, and then I look at the ground under the bucket, but over the hood. I need some ROPS lights, they would be a big improvement.

I didn't get the tooth bar either, will add one later. Right now it digs pretty well for what I'm using it for, but I don't have alot of digging deep. Mostly just moving standing piles at this point in time. Don't have upgraded stabilizer pads on the hoe either, the standard pads seem to work fine. I asked about extended warranty but there was none. I was dissapointed about this because JD has a maintenance plan which extends the warranty, but in reality, none of the local dealers honored the maintenance plan anyway.

Absolutely not. Ruwet & Sibley in New Milford was pleasant and nicely faxed me a quote for $ 15,900 for the BX23 plus tax. The same price as New Hampshire.

I can't pass the dealer's name at this time since I'm still finalizing my purchase. The dealer stated he had many BX23 units he needed to unload and discounted for that reason. Several of the dealers I spoke with wanted me to ID the dealer, with what appeared to be a motivation to complain to Kubota.

This dealer will ship within 175 miles for free. I received a PM email quote from a dealer that was three states away that was even lower, but I did not entertain the offer due to extreme distance.

The dealer filled my two sets of rear tires at no charge and at the time, I didn't even think to ask about filling tires. It was just done. The flip over pads were just under $200 and are not needed unless you have a driveway and work off the edge of the pavement. The HD alternator is definitely worth it if you are planning extra lighting.
If you like Ruwet & Sibley in New Milford as a dealer, see if they will go for the deal at the lower price. Do this in person with the owner if possible. If they don't have a machine in stock, ask them if they can get one from another dealer in trade. I know that dealers trade machines all the time between each other....... same as car dealers. Make sure that you are comparing equaly..... is tax include and extra with one of the dealers? I have always found that it is better to deal face to face with check book in hand. That way, they know that you are serious and not just another tire kicker. I always try to support the local economy whenever possible, even if it means spending a few extra $$$. The convenience of local purchases and service have a value that is hard to put a price on when you need it in a hurry. I don't see this a just buying a tractor, but creating a relationship that will last the life of the tractor. If your local dealer isn't inclined to be that type of dealer, then I would go out of the area as a result. If we want the local dealers to be responsive, we have to develop a working relationship with them... Just my opinion... others may disagree and they are entitled to their opinions. Good luck with your new tractor where ever it comes from... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I put 2 55w floods on my BX22 ROPS and they work great. I made it so I can pivot them to the rear for BH work and they light up the work area quite well. If all I have on are the headlights and these 2 floods, I'm right at the capacity of the standard dynamo (I think its 14 amps), so no need for the high amp alternator. Plus, I usually only have one or the other on, not both.

Get the toothbar, by the way.

I think there is two sides to this post or the direction the post seems to be taking. One is service, the other is a little politically correct.

I have to say if you looked at my past posts, I tried to deal locally where I thought it would be easier to get serviced.

I called my closest, local dealer (15-20 miles away) for a quote 3 times over a one week period. I was given an apology on the second call and was told I would get the quote that day. NOTHING AGAIN. THIRD CALL I was told another person was doing Kubota sales and passed to another salesperson. CALLED A 4TH TIME GO to go OVER THE STORY OF WHAT I WANTED AGAIN and received a high quote after begging on this twenty minute call to just give me a number that wasn't $1000 higher on the BX23 (not to mention $900 in taxes). The sales person said he had them in stock.

The sales person was argumentative, made comments like they mainly deal with builders. I'm a business person and had to calm this idiot down. I express I wanted to work with them since they were my closest local dealer, but felt it wasn't right they had a price $1000 over the other quotes. When I finally said I would have to seek another Kubota dealer and said I was writing to Kubota on the manner I was treated over a one period, he decided to match one of the quotes.

Two days ago I asked for a quote on a B7610 just to compare with the BX23 (last minute second quessing) and still have not received a call back. I actually drove to this dealership this week and happened to bump into the first sales person, who stated he had no Bx23s in stock and gave the impression he could not be bothered. I'm sure the service would be the same. There is more to tell, but why bore you guys.

My gut said not to deal with these guys. Support works both ways. I decided to take the low price as insurance against the machine. As for tax support, I paid in excess of $100,000 in taxes last year between the Fed, State of CT, local home and property tax (which the local tax on my home has doubled in the last three years)(they just shut my childrens school because most of the public local public workers/officals just take care of themselves) CT sales tax is not included in the above fiqure.

Bottom line, $1900 save with lower price and no taxes that I can use toward accessories. Paying COD. Remember, support works both ways. The other CT dealer I tried to give business to was nice, not flexible and 45 to 1 hour away. The quy I'm buying from probably 1 1/2 hours away. The lowest quote I got was from the State of PA who sent me a PM after seeing my post.

Just received faxed invoice. This quy is great. Emailed to have dealer put in writing last night and received at 8:28 AM today.

BX23 T.L.B. $14,999
RIM Guard $125
Tooth bar w/installed $299
Rear Light $68
50 Hour Service package $100 (not sure if I can do better)
High Cap Alt Kit $175 (not sure if I'm going to buy this)

WOW..I feel better. Hey do I owe any of you guys for allowing me to get this off my chest.
