It's getting to be that time again.

Getting close to gardening time! Last year I was selling tomatoes on the 11th of June. This year my goal is by the 1st of June. I grow my early stuff in a 12X40 high tunnel.

Dang, now I'm hungry for 'maters.

as mild as this winter has been in most of the county...i think everyone that has a garden will be able to start planting earlier than usual...i agree just can't beat a home grown tomato

Fresh grown garden produce tastes the best. The products that most grocery stores supply simply can't compare with the quality of produce that one grows in their own garden. I love to pick a fresh tomato, wipe it off on my shirt,take a bite, use the salt shaker and take another bite. :thumbsup:

Cherry tomatoes along the driveway. Makes the walk from the truck take longer but seem shorter.

Mild winter does have me in the garden earlier this year. Onions, radish, carrots, spinach, lettuce, corn, potatoes, canaloupe, squash in ground already. Raising tomatoes (several varieties), peppers (several varieties), broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage, cucumber in starters in "greenhouse." Waiting for soil to dry a little before I get them in the garden. :thumbsup: I love being able to walk into the backyard, pick a bowl of lettuce, a couple of tomatoes, some green onions, a pepper or two, a cucumber and a fresh squash, go inside and make a salad with what I picked out and start to feast. :licking: Num Num
