Hello all!!

From the shores of the Chesapeake Bay I extend salutations and greetings as we enter into the Holiday Season.

The oyster season is progressing nicely in these parts with the most bountiful harvest in decades.
And the white-tailed deer hunting season is in full swing with several nice bucks having been taken of late.

But sadly, Deere season is proving to be very disappointing, with my trusty yellow backhoe deciding that now is the time to relax. It refuses to budge, with not even a whine from the hydro-static transmission.

Thus after years of lurking among the dusty and diesel stained pages of this forum, I find myself becoming a member and invoking the assistance of my fellow Deere wranglers. How can I prod the yellow beast to flight? To make it once again as nimble as the stag upon the corporate emblem!

Or in this Deere season, is it "me" that is the prey? To be driven upon the killing fields of the local service department, and there brought to ground, my very essence rent from my soul! My wallet eviscerated!! With the warm contents spilling like so much blood upon the cold Formica of the cashiers counter?

Yes, let us be thankful this Holiday Season for our many great fortunes, and let us strive to retain them, as the hunter may be only the unwary prey.

Cheers!!

Raw, fried, steamed, baked, in stew...love them...

...This time of year I like to steam them open on a grill (next to a nice fire to provide coals)...then add Parmesan cheese...and or all the other regular ingredients for "oysters casino"...and grill until cheese is melting...!!

Usually have some venison kabobs on the grill too...
