I've come close. And it's just a matter of time. I now wrap my orange ext cord around the loader handle and then plug it in so I will see it. I have to raise the bucket to drive away. Maybe this will work for me.

I got lucky with a delivery truck, the front tire ran over the extension cord and unplugged it from the heater. I got lucky!

Run the cord through the steering wheel. You'll usually see it before/during starting or driving off.

No block heater on the tractor...it is still in the box! But at least once a year I drive off with the truck still plugged in..... Good thing I have to back out! One would think you would learn after so many years.

Wife did it on the Silverado a couple of years ago. It unplugged from the extension cord but the cord left on the truck was dragging. I'm assuming she ran over the end of it somewhere and ripped the cord in half. It didn't hurt the part that went to the engine itself though. I had the end of a my troublelight where the do had eaten the light part (I put it in her cage/house to help keep her warm. ). So rather then throw it away I took the end of it and reattached it to the truck. Don't really need it now that we have the garage, but I did plug the tractor in once last year even though it was in the garage.

Ha! Where the tractor is now and how it's plugged in, well, the cord is fully extended. There's no extra to wrap around anything. Some day I'll change cords and such... Some day...

I've done it on my truck. Lucky me, it was one of those expensive fifty footers with the light in the end..... it was almost fifty dollars. Drove off at night.... something caught my eye in the rear view mirror. It was HALF of the cord swaying back and forth acroos the lane behind me.... still plugged to my block heater. Expensive lesson.... ALWAYS wrapped it through the mirror bracket after that !

19 years ago my No. 1 son drove away with my new (to me) pickup still plugged in. It unplugged itself from the extension cord, but not before damaging the plastic grille. "I'll fix that Dad." Last week (yes, I stll have the same truck, grille still not fixed), I did the same thing. Bigger hole in grille now.
