IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

I couldn't stand it any longer. Made the 90-minute drive to check this one out and it looks to be in perfect condition.

187 hours pulling an apple wagon, several maintenances done on schedule, starting at 50 hours -- last one at 186 hours.

No frills, fer sure (unless you count power steering). Standard gear shift, which I actually tried out and enjoyed. Only time will tell if I just have to have something better.

Brand new loader to be installed tomorrow, plus 5-ft boxscraper, 5-ft bush hog and clamp-on bucket forks already ordered. Everything but the tractor is brand new, and everything including the tractor comes with full warranty.

What's so different about this tractor?

First picture attached, more coming soon.

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Oh Harv I'm so sorry, that model was only made for about a month and was discontinued after Kubota found that their new supplier the NAUT SO GOO ED Manufacturing Company on the Maoste Peninsula used fiberboard cylinder lines, and wax connecting rods. They only run about 190 hours before total destruction.

HARV HARV!?! Is your blood pressure up?

Let it back down...just teezin'

One time someone called me who had bought a car I had traded to a dealer...my first comment..."Is that the one that was in the lake?" Then I talked to him for half an hour reassured him he really did get a good unit.

You are at the threshold of AN ADVENTURE! Now start scaring the neighbors! See how many of them start waving when you drive by and come over when they hear your tractor running!

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

CONGRATULATIONS HARV! NOW, lets get that signature block changed! Ok? Sounds like you got a nice unit, WITH all the goodies you wanted....well maybe not all, but real close! Good things happen to those who have patience and wait. Now if I can just figure out how to get it delivered here, and my old one delivered to your place....;o) Like DEL said, just teasing!
Have fun, see your post late at night, in about a week (when you climb off it)!

P.S. Shouldn't this post be in KUBOTA OWNING??

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Very good, Harv! Glad you finally found a good deal. I noticed the weights on the front end, and I've seen some questions as to whether there was enough clearance to have the weights AND a front end loader, but I don't recall seeing an answer, so now you can let us know whether those weights stay when you put the loader on it. Have fun.

Harv, you really deserve it!! You worked hard for that one, now enjoy it. If it works only half as good as the picture looks, it'll be a Jim Dandy.

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Personal Opinion, with the loader on the weights should be off, unless you are only carrying straw. With the correct pressure in the front ags on my Ford, a load of wet dirt or gravel will almost wrench the tires off the rim unless you turn very gently. I think the weights are just for balance and traction when you don't have the loader on.

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Congratulations Harv/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. I know you have waited patiently for so long and now you have your very own Tractor. You don't have to pull that rope or sit on the ground anymore, your new logo now should have you sitting high on that Kubota/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Del -
Thanks for your thoughts, but I think your homemade Gatorade is a little heavy on the amphetamines./w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif Or is that the natural high Kubota owners get?

Scruffy -
Thanks! Notice that the signature block has changed. We're no longer laboring by hand -- just kickin' back and waitin' for the big delivery. /w3tcompact/icons/cool.gif
Hey! You're right -- this should be in KUBOTA OWNING now. Force of habit, I guess. /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif

The wheel weights were just left over from pulling apple carts. I was kinda hoping they were part of the deal 'cuz I was going to hang 'em off the box scraper. The dealer said there was not enough clearance for both the weights and the loader, anyway.

Whether I deserve it or not remains to be seen. As for looking good, let's face it -- it's a pretty basic, stripped-down 'Bota. Of course it's my baby and I think it's beautiful. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Not that it really matters for this snapshot, but I noticed the jpeg image suffered a little damage on the upload (that light-colored bar near the bottom ain't in the original). Is there any way to reload an attachment after the fact?

Thanks for the back-pats, y'all. It was never my intention to be a gold member before I got the tractor. Kind of embarassing, actually. As you may have noticed, I'm a nut for pictures, so I'll probably drive you all crazy with photo posts of my beginner's escapades. I'll try to share even the more humiliating experiences for the sake of others who may be on the verge of buying their first tractor.

Ironically, there is no computer at the property where the tractor will live, so I won't be able to get same-day feedback on my novice trials and tribulations.

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Congratulations on the new Kubota Tractor. It really is a brand new one! 186 hours won't even break it in.

You may want to get the dealer to throw in the front weights as you may need them if you operate without the loader. I seldom take my loader off, but have the quick attach brackets and can dump the bucket in a few seconds.

I think you will be pleased with the 5 foot equipment. I am sure you will be pleased with the new tractor. It is unusual to find that new of a tractor except through a dealer. Have fun....

Re: IT\'S A BOY!!!...I Mean A Kubota!

Thanks, Wen!

That's an interesting point about the front weights. I was not anticipating ever taking the loader off. Mostly 'cuz I can't think why I would want to.

Got any examples that might apply to me?
