Here in the commonwealth, it was humid. More humid than hot. So humid -

- I'd walk over to the barn and my shirt front was getting wet.

- I'd start pulling barbed wire ONE strand at a time - retreat
to shade and water AFTER each strand.

- Roll each strand by hand and retreat again to shade and
water.

- Get tractor to pull fence posts, and retreated to shed after
pulling five posts.

- Called it a day after 'hogging the new "horse pasture".

- Must have dranks gallons, and didn't hit the boys room all
day.

- Every time I stood up, I did it S L O W.

unreal.

See up here in WNY we complain about this weather because you can't take off a layer if you want to. In the winter it's cold be at least you can add another layer if you want to.

I wish we had central air.......... /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Larry,
Why do you think we have egg salad sandwitches and deviled eggs at summer picknicks down here every summer ?

Try being in the heating, air conditoning and refrigeration business. Firday night or should I say saturday morning I got home 4:30am. Last night or should I say this morning it was 3:30am. Been a lot of nights like this in the last three weeks.

And no we don't make much money on this type of work because we do more babysitting of equipment that was not designed to handle these loads and when it is all done the customer refuses to pay because we didn't fix anything.

Hey Larry, I thought I was the only nut to do that. Man it sure is humid. Looks like another day of sweating off the weight without even working at it. Yesterday it was so humid the chickens eggs evaporated before I got a chance to get collect them.

Sounds like he needs to update his equipment so you don't need to babysit.

Slowrev -- your prayers have been answered. There's a battery powered AC unit that wraps around the back of your neck and blows air both up and down. I think its carried by The Sharper Image, Brookstone, or maybe Harringtons. I have no idea how effective it is but you can buy one and give us a full review. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a head band and neck-sized bandana that come filled with a gel. You put them in the freezer and they keep you cool for a little over an hour.

Did you hear about the baseball players putting a leaf of cabbage in their hats? Apparently this is a common practice in the far east.

Saturday the wife and I took in a fair and tractor pull in Warren, Ohio. Unfortunately it was so hot and humid that we didn't stick around for all the pulls. You could see most folks there were suffering as they made make shift paper fans trying for a bit of relief from the heat. Not much fun when your clothes are wet from perspiration.
