Iseki Engine Question

Does anyone know if the engine that comes in the 1700 Series MF tractors (1.1L), has a timing belt or timing gears.

Fingers crossed that it comes with the gears over the belt...

I'll check my service manual tonight to be sure but I'm quite positive its gears and definitely not a belt like in an automobile overhead cam engine.

They're geared, no chain or belt.

Fantastic. Thanks for looking it up in the service manuel...

This little Iseki engine has impressed me. In theory, it should be a 6,000 hr engine before it needs a rebuild. Just use good oil and keep up on the coolant...

At the rate I'm going it should easily outlast me. 58 more years to reach 6,000 hours. LOL!
