Isabel at Langley AFB

Friends of mine in the Air Force forwarded some shots of Isabel paying her visit in and around Langley AFB in Virginia. Here in western PA we didn't even get a good rain but the coast obviously had a lot more interesting time of it. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That is cool with the planes in the background. Were they flying during the storm to keep them from being damaged!

Or is the blur on the right a wayward bird, and the one just lifting off one of those old junkers mounted on a pedastal by the main gate..?

I'm pretty sure I heard that the fighter wing had been relocated to Oklahoma to ride out the storm. I didn't hear whether the Navy put a lot of assets out to sea out of Norfolk but I believe it would be their standard practice to ride out the storm away from port.
