is this a pump or a motor?

found it in my grand fathers barn as he said anything in it is mine. if its a motor [thanks kennyd] i could use it for my snow blower shoot. thanks

Do you mean "if it's a motor I can..."?

Looks like a small motor because the ports are the same size. Pumps usually have on port larger (the return or suction) than the other.

yes i ment motor sorry. on a motor does it work to put power to one side to make it go one way and power to the other side to make it go the other way?
