Price Check Is this a good price on... Kubota BX23

Hello to all...

I've been lurking and reading this board for a few weeks now and have decided to finally register. Anyway after a lot of research and reading and comparing on my part I've decided on the Kubota BX23.

I was hoping if you gents who know more about these things would let me know if I am getting a good price on this tractor.

I live in Ulster County, New York... if this helps.

Kubota BX 23 TLB $15,900
Kubota RCK6022 BX 60" mower deck $1,650
Total $17,550
sales tax $1447.88

Total including tax $18,997.88

He is including a block heater at no extra charge.

Sounds like a fair deal. Every location seems to have different prices though.

The mower seems like a good deal but the BX23 is about $1,000 MORE then EMERICH SALES.. So the BX23 seems a little high.

Talk to Jim Crane At Emerich's, period. No BS and honest as the day is long. Last time I was there he had about 16 BX23. Last week another TBN person said he still had 12...

It's probably a good starting point if you are going to negotiate. I paid $15k and $1300 for the 60" mower deck, or $16.3k total, but I'm in Florida, and I think my dealer sells alot of BX's.

I agree with mike's recommendation. I've been working all day and he beat me to it.

Jim Crane at Emerich sales has 12 BX 23s in stock ready to go for $1000 less than you were quoted (ON THE TRACTOR). I can't say on the mower, but he should be the same or lower on that also.

I can give you a perfect example of his service. I dropped off my 4 way valve the other day due to a problem with my float detent. It was repaired that same day and they even took some preventative measures so the problem wouldn't return. I've heard horror stories about other dealers service practices.

Emerichs also has Kubota filters, fluids, and accessories at the same prices as the mail order places. I don't think they are low-balling prices, I think a few other dealers are getting greedy.

If you are still looking, I have a gently used 39 hour!! BX23 with the 60 inch mid-mount mower. I bought it in May, and we just sold the property.

I would sell it for $15,000. That would save you $4000 from your current quote since you wouldn't have to pay tax.

Update:
I stoped by Emerichs on my way home this morning to pick up my valve. Jim only has 7 left. I told him about your quote and his price is $1100 lower for a BX 23 and mower deck.

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for your quick responses, the internet and helpful people like yourselves can definitely spoil a person. Emerich's did in fact quote me a price 1k less than my local dealer, who is 35 miles away. At this point my main concern is service on the tractor from the local dealer, as he has stated that he would assign me low priority over customers who bought from him. The local dealer was honest about not being able to meet Emerich's price. He knocked off another $300, but won't go below that. At this point its about a $700 difference. I will be pulling the trigger on this decision next week. Again thanks to all, I will post when I get my tractor. I got to test drive it today, it was easier than I thought to operate the FEL, didn't get to play with the backhoe.
