JD 6330, JD 5055e, Ford 4000,
I would like to buy some front weights for a new six series JD. Is there anyway to get them for a better price than new fom dealer?

EverythingAttachments.com has aftermarket copies of JD weights. Number 4015 100lbs, Ten for $959 with free shipping.

Good luck, even used ones around here are $1 a pound. This company sells aftermarket one, but after shipping there is no real savings: Lonestar Weights & Castings

what he said ^^^ When I was looking it seemed they were all close to the same... new, used, aftermarket, etc. Unless you get lucky and find a good deal on some used ones, you're probably best off going to the dealer.

Most small weights seem to be a $1.15-1.25 a pound. I went with aftermarket weight to save a little money on the BX.

While I don't know the 6 series Deere, lots of Deere front weight brackets will accept earlier Deere weights from other series. For my 5520 I've got weights off earlier and different model (1970's?) that fit and work fine. It's their typical 100 lb weight and I bet it will fit yours as well and those weights are commonly available.

Short of that, you just have to suck it up and pay for them. When it comes to weights I just write a check and forget about it.

If it has a loader - and if the loader isn't enough, put a LOAD in the bucket.

I was just thinking the same thing. Why not just pick up a granite basketball or two? When you're done with them, dump 'em.
