We don't use any off road diesel. We have a 1000 gallon tank at our shop but we fill it with clear. We use it to fuel our semi, pickups, tractor, dozer, etc. I know we could save some money using red for some applications but we don't like the hassle of keeping them separated. One fuel for everything.

I also found a bunch of intermittent windshield wiper controls for $20 or less. All they do is provide a timed output to 12V wiper motors which you could power a small beeper with.
