I've been looking at used tractors for a few months and am really close to pulling the trigger but the OCD in my wants to make sure I have looked everywhere. I have searched Fastline, TractorHouse, Ebay, and Craigslist. Am I missing somewhere obvious where people sell their tractors? I'm not set on one brand but have been looking at NH. Open to JD, MF, Kubota, Case. Thanks!

From my experience, someone else will always get a better deal than me. No matter how good of a deal I find, if I mention it to the right group of people, someone in that group will know of a better deal that I just missed out on --- if I choose to believe him. I usually don't.

That is why I never talk money. If I want something, I buy it from the place / people that I want to do business with and never mention the price again.

Hey your doing what most of us have done. As bigtiller said after you buy someone somewhere at sometime will say they got a better deal. So what be happy with your research and with the tractor you buy, and enjoy it!

Im sure you all are right....will always be someone who says they got a better deal but that doesnt really bother me. Im more concerned with seeing if I can possibly get more tractor within my budget. I feel pretty confident that Ive done a good job so far of finding the most for my money but couldnt hurt to ask, right? Thanks again guys!

Have you ever noticed when your shopping all the check out lines are moving faster than the one your standing in ? Same thing, just do the best you can do and move on....

You can only do what you can do.

I've found some pretty good bargains, but usually when I just stumbled on them. When I really get to searching for something, those uber deals never seem to appear on Craigs, etc.

Eyes wide open. Far as I know, most folks don't just give tractors away anyhow. There's room for negotiating, but the bottom line is the bottom line.

If a guy "gave one away"? He usually does it before I hear about it!!:D

Not me. I always pick the fastest check out line, with the cutest cashier, get the cheapest gas, get better mileage, got a better tractor for a cheaper price and longer warranty. Do I even need to go on?

One important note: You have to tell me me how you fared on all of the above before I can tell you how I did better.

In the Dilbert world, I think this fella is known as "Topper"!.

In all seriousness, it seems like everytime I've looked for a truck/tractor/gun/pack of gum/etc., right after I buy what I thought was a good deal, another one pops up that looks like it was cheaper or better. The lesson I've learned is to buy what I'm happy with - then immediately quit looking!

Good luck and take care.
