New to the Mahindra brand - looks to me to be a simple solid unit - but I have NO experience with the brand and know no one with one either.

I'm looking at pulling the trigger on a 7060 Cab tractor ... looks like a steel of a deal to me. My concern is there is insufficient HP for the weight, especially since my ground is hilly. My dealer wants another 9k to move up to the 85HP unit - or I would just do that. I currently run a 65HP Massey (no loader) with filled tires and front weights. Bare Massey weighs in at 5700 lbs and is well balanced power/weight, but the 7060 comes in at almost 2000 lbs more and I'm getting a loader.

Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Don't know about the 60 series but I have a 30 series (simple and strong!) w/ only 55 hp and it weighs over 6000lbs and does great.
Hopefully some of the 60 owners will let ya know what they feel.

Well, I have a 7520, (pre 60 series) 75hp. I have my tractor weighing in at a little over 12,000lbs and It does just fine. I can't see having a 10,000lb tractor with 70hp being any real problem.

Just my opinion. ;)

I've heard folks complain even about the lack of power with the 8560. I'd be afraid the 70 hp model would be way underpowered. I have a 6000 and I consider it underpowered. Rule of thumb seems to be take away 10 hp for the cab. My personal opinion is the transmission options are lacking. If you had a 16 speed tranny it'd give you more room to use the limited hp.

I agree with it would be nice to have a 16x16 transmission
. I would also say that it makes a difference with what it is that you are going to use the tractor for. I do almost all dirt work, very little PTO usage. Before I found the proper ballast range for what I do, I never ran out of power, just lost traction.

So if you want to pull a 15' mower and cut 3'-4' tall grass, it may not be the machine for you.:confused3:

Yes and no. Youll be able to pull or push real hard but the hills will require downgearing youre not used to. I think my 7520 needs a more steeply advanced fuel curve on the governor to give a better torque rise if rpm falls off. This particularly shows as composite weight goes above 11,000#

I have a 2007 model year 6520 4WD with a Bradco 511 backhoe on back. It is the earlier version of your 7060. I never have had a problem pulling it's 11,300 pounds around. I don't have hills around here, but never lacked any power pushing or carrying a 7 foot bucket full of clay up a pond dam or spoils pile.
But you gotta downshift and like Joel and Brian mentioned.................16x16 speeds would be better. I think the 8560 also has more hydraulic gpm also.
hugs, Brandi
