Is the 2320 right for me? (dif. person)

Would a 2320 be able to power a rear 72" woods finish mower? Our Ford 1620 light brush cuts with it. I don't think it could do extreme tall, wet stuff with it, but I think considering it is only 10" wider than the mid 62", and the rear PTO is more powerful, I think it could handle it. Opinions?

There's a guy on here (Runner) that has a 2520 and he's running a GM1072R (which is just a Woods PRD7200 restickered). If I recall correctly he doesn't have a problem in terms of powering the mower, it's the weight of the mower that gives the machine a workout. Though I think he fixed or atleast alleviated the problem, with wheel weights. The 2.5 hp to the PTO difference between the 2 tractors might make a slight change in how it handles for you. You'll definately always have to keep after the grass though if you want to use a 2320 with that. Search prior post in the JD section to find his topics.

I am not sure, but probably....The weight may be the limiting factor though if you need to lift it.

and the rear PTO is more powerful,

Why?

Let me clarify, I do not know this for sure, but or 27-28 engine hp 1620 runs the woods so much more powerfully than the 30 engine hp TC30 does with mid. These are ford/NH and I believe it is the same with all tractors. I may be wrong.

Are you going slower with the 27hp tractor? Is the 27hp diesel or gas? If there both diesel or gas, then the most horsepower is going to win everytime. But a 2320 is only 24hp to the engine/18hp to the PTO, thats alot mower for a small engine. Though I was able to get a worn out 11hp Cub to turn a 5ft deck before my 3320, but the blades had to be kept sharp and the grass maintained.

They are the same tractor frame, engine, tranny. The TC30 is newer, with just 2-3 more hp. They go both medium range, 540/1500rpm, both on hydros, both slow when heavy grass is hit. I am the only one that drives either.

Also, I spoke with Runner. He said it powers it great even in heavy grass. I think the 2320 would do it if his 2520 does awesome.

I would figure out a way to add weight-
Me=175lbs
Filled tires all the way= 600-800lbs(not sure)
Loader- 400lbs
Bucket= 200lbs
Weights off current tractor put into bucket- 220 lbs
Plus 4wd

1775 lbs added to weight of tractor in 4wd. Weight shouldn't be a problem.

Didn't go to dealer yesterday- I'll hit it sometime this week. I put some thought into it and thought about implements. The blade we have now is an ARPS and is too heavy for all but one tractor- so I think I'll get a Frontier 5ft. We don';t have a box blade either- so Frontier 4ft would come in handy.

This is what I believe the accessories will be-
200cx loader
Loaded R4's
Forks
Frontier 4ft box blade
Frontier 5ft blade
Markham Welding Toothbar

How's that sound?

I know there is another thread asking this same question- Is the 2320 right for me? Well, I'm a different person, under different circumstances, so I expect some different answers and suggestions.

First off, we are not sure we are going to buy. But, right now my 13 y.o self is looking for a tractor. As you can see by looking in my signature, we have 11 tractors, so another is not needed.

I would want this tractor to handle the odd jobs I throw at it. I have a tendency to pull things that look cool out of the woods. I also need it to pull a small steel drag, as well as a roller. I also need it for small projects that I would normally do with one of Pop's non-loader tractors ( building a treehouse, etc). we have 3-point implements this can handle. Main uses would be pulling, mostly non 3-point, and lifting.

We would probably have it equipped with a 200x, not cx, loader, to easily change between forks, no-teeth bucket, and toothed bucket. I would have loaded R4's all the way around. We have no need for another mower.

I appreciate and thank in advance all comments/suggestions you guys post.

Thanks, Kyle

Man, give the guy a little advice and he JACKS my avatar!:p
